Waverley Consultancy has been set-up by Stephen Naylor who has worked for ten years in journalism, communications and politics. We specialise in providing communications, strategic and public affairs advice for individuals and companies who want to ensure their voice is heard.
Stephen began his career as a journalist working on a radio station in West Yorkshire, working on the breakfast show and presenting Huddersfield Town coverage. He was promoted to run the radio station’s output as Programme Controller before leaving to help set-up a community radio station.
In 2007 he joined the Conservative Party as the Press Officer for Yorkshire to work with Parliamentary candidates, the Shadow Cabinet and the media. Ahead of the General Election he became responsible for the Party’s press and communications across the North of England and played a key role in the 2010 campaign.
Since 2010, Stephen has worked for a Member of Parliament running his constituency office, providing research and advice and co-ordinating successful campaigns at Westminster and in Yorkshire.
The Waverley was where Stephen had his first experience of working in business – at a very young age. It was a successful newsagents owned by his grandmother and Stephen helped out (or so he would like to believe) when his age was in single figures.
